The Macon County Law Library located on the 3rd floor of the Macon County Circuit Court serves the legal information needs of the legal profession, judiciary, self represented litigants and the public.  The library offers an extensive selection of legal resources in print as well as state of the art legal databases provided by Westlaw that includes all states and federal access.  We are happy to announce we will be installing new computers, monitors and copy machine this spring (2022) which will benefit your search needs.

A NOTE FROM THE MACON COUNTY LAW LIBRARIAN AND SELF-HELP NAVIGATOR

The Macon County Law Library and Self-Help Center has partnered with PILI (Public Law Initiative), the Illinois Bar Association and the Decatur Bar Association again this year to help litigants in need of assistance with legal advice for civil cases.  They will hold a "help desk" once per month that is manned by the Bar Association Pro Bono Attorneys.  This is a free service if you qualify.  If you are in need of assistance with a civil case, you can refer to the attached flyer for the dates and times of the help desk.  If you cannot make it to one of our Self-Help Desks and you have a civil (not criminal) legal question, you can ask it for free on https://il.freelegalanswers.org  A volunteer lawyer will send you an answer.  It's like a virtual clinic, but attorneys do not go to court or help beyond answer your question.
